West Ham most loyal club in history
Just 17 managers in its history - compared to 55 for Palace.

Interesting who come second, too. Must be something to do with the East End spirit.

It still surprises me as recently we have got through a few managers.
I am proud we are still number one in this

That West Brom manager for 46 years is fucking mental.

I'm 42 and my life seems to have gone on forever already!!!

If Man U hadn't had 3 managers in the past 3 seasons what would their average time be?

Lyall was number 5. Shame Bonds didn't become no 6 and manage for 15-20 years to keep up the tradition.

Re: West Ham most loyal club in history
We have had 15 not 17. Unless there are a couple of caretaker managers in there.

Syd King
Charlie Paynter
Ted Fenton
Ron Greenwood
John Lyall
Lou Macari
Billy Bonds
Harry Redknapp
Glenn Roeder
Alan Pardew
Alan Curbishley
Gianfranco Zola
Avram Grant
Sam Allardyce
Slaven Bilić

Trevor Brooking?

Re: West Ham most loyal club in history
Boyce & Brooking, both caretakers. Makes 17.

If some people on here had their way we'd change manager after every defeat.

normannomates 7:26 Fri May 26
Re: West Ham most loyal club in history
Only five managers from our beginnings until Johnny Lyall's departure in 1989.
That is something I've always been proud of.

Who can forget Kevin Keen, twice caretaker after Curbishley resigned and Grant got the chop.
So it's 18 including caretakers.

Cheezey Bell-End 7:29 Fri May 26
Re: West Ham most loyal club in history
If we include caretakers, Kevin Keen as well.

If some people had their way on here we'd have a new manager after every win!

Some of the knicker wetters on here demand 5-0 every match.

I'm very proud of our record of sticking by managers.

Re: West Ham most loyal club in history
Kevin Keen. The worst of them all. That team he put out vs Sunderland was terrible. Probably the last time they won a game!

Yeah, Avram Grant was worth holding onto.

Just think what 42 years would feel like if you had to watch West Brom every week.

Re: West Ham most loyal club in history
The record is really only of note up to the appointment of Lou Macari.
Since then we have been fairly typical in our comings and goings I would have thought.

im more impressed with our loyal fans, we win nothing play crap half the time, move to a new stadium with issues and yet we will still hit 50k attendances.

Something clearly broke with Bonds getting muscled out. Shame manager's jobs aren't decided on the pitch.

normannomates 9:22 Fri May 26
Re: West Ham most loyal club in history
Bonds was hopeless.
Was the right move
